Do I Have To Change My Long Distance Carrier?

Although CIM supports, endorses or can recommend several different long distance carriers, it is NOT required that you change your long distance carrier.  The choice is entirely yours.  But remember, the goal is to cut your advertising expenses, so if your current plan offers 5¢ per minute, that's 3¢ more than you should be paying.  My advice is to explore your options, as they are bountiful.  Click Here to learn more about options for Flat Rate Long Distance.

CIM does endorse various different flat rate plans.  Fiber Optic flat rate requires that you change your carrier, VoIP flat rate allows you to use the service with an access number without having to switch your current long distance provider and Broadband allows you to completely bypass your telephone and utilizes the internet.  Whichever technology you choose, you will save a bundle on long distance.

The CIM Visual Training Manual includes step-by-step instructions to program WinFax Pro to dial an access number for rapid faxing when using a VoIP (access number dialed) flat rate plan.

Which Fax Software Program Is Recommended?

The fax software that we use in conjunction with the CIM (VTM) Personal Fax-Broadcasting Visual Training Manual is
WinFax Pro 10.   It is one of the finest fax software programs on the market. It has full faxing capabilities and can be used
in lieu of a stand alone fax machine. It can also be very beneficial to use even if you do have a stand alone fax machine.

WinFax has the capability to broadcast to a group, which means that you can import fax numbers and/or your business contacts into a group and with the click of the mouse you can send a fax to everyone. It is also a great way to keep in touch with your organization or contacts without having to take your valuable time to call each of them individually.

WinFax will also allow you to schedule faxes for future delivery. You can set up your fax flyer to transmit even if you will be out of town. Are you a late riser, you can set up WinFax Pro to begin broadcasting while you are still sleeping.

You can download a FREE trial "shareware" version of WinFax 10.  Links are provided in our VTM members area.  *The trial software  will work for 30 days.  After that time, you will need the full version of WinFax.  CIM offers WinFax 10 (OEM) software for $49.97 plus S/H, you can find it on ebay for even less or  you  can get it at an office supply store for about $100 or purchase online directly from Symantec for about $100.

You will save more in one week by doing your own fax broadcasting than the cost of the software!

    WinFax Pro 10 System Requirements:

Compatible Operating Systems: Windows 95/98, Windows ME/2000/XP or Windows NT
    57MB Free Disk Space/32MB RAM

How Many Faxes Can I Send From My PC?

Technically speaking, your computer can fax approximately 1400 flyers in a 24-hour period.  It takes approximately  one-minute per page including dialing/connection time.  That's about 60 faxes per hour.

The long distance plan that you use will generally determine the number of faxes that you will be sending.

    Example:
If you opt for a long distance plan that supports 5000 minutes per month, you could fax 1250 faxes per week.
That comes out to about 250 faxes per day, which will take your computer about 4 1/2 hours, 5 days a week.
*However, you are the one that determines which days and how long you want to fax for.  You might opt to send
300 faxes per day, 4 days per week.  It's entirely up to you.

Faxing during the middle of the night is a no-no. Some people have only one phone line, which is used for their phone & fax. Your prospects will not even respond to your offer if they are awakened during the middle of the night.  We recommend that you fax between the hours of 9am to 9pm.  Responsible faxing is of the utmost importance.

When you take into consideration the time zones, you'll have an even greater window of time for faxing. Take advantage of the time differences and schedule your faxes based on time zones.

    Example:
Let's say you are located in a Pacific Time Zone "PST" state, you could begin faxing to Eastern Time Zone states "EST" at let's say 6am -PST, because it would be 9am in the "EST" states.  Then work through the time zones.  This allows you to get more bang for the buck ~ so to speak.

Do I Have To Be Connected To The Internet To Send Faxes?

No, you don't have to be connected to the internet for WinFax to send faxes.  WinFax uses the modem in your computer, which in most cases is connected to a standard phone jack.  The only exception to that would be if you are using Broadband phone service.   Click here for details regarding broadband service.

You do need to be connected to the internet in order to access your Visual Training Manual as our server will verify your registration and the videos are a flash presentation that will stream from our website.  (for those who don't know what that means; you do not have to download the videos and use your disk space, when you want to view a video, your computer will look to our website, the video will load and play)

What Are The Best Days To Fax?

Many marketing authorities will say that the best days to fax are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  The reasoning behind this is that Monday is what some would consider to be a get back into the swing of things kind of day.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are considered to be midweek, which is when some believe that individuals are once again sick of their J-O-B-S and are more apt to look at an opportunity.  Then Friday rolls around and the felocity is that people are more concerned with the weekend activities. This is what some will tell you, but I am going to tell you differently or rather I am going to share with you my experience.

When CIM got started, we sent our fax ads from PC's and our calling plan supported faxing on Fridays, so that's what we did.  Additionally, we also did some faxing on Saturdays, which by the way yielded the best response we have ever had.

In my opinion ~ You Can't Say The Right Thing To The Wrong Person and on the flip side, You Can't Say The Wrong Thing To The Right Person.  If someone is going to be interested, they will be interested no matter when they receive your advertisement.

I personally don't think that there is a right or wrong day to advertise.  I believe that you have to do what feels right for you.  Business have been advertising seven days a week for years.  Think about it ~ You see TV commercials every day of the week, right?  What about radio ~ same thing.  At least that's the way it is in my corner of the world. I see all kinds of advertising going on EVERY DAY.  Remember the basic principles, which are that you must consistently get your information out to the masses and those who are interested will be moved to action when the time is right for them.

What If I Only Have One Phone Line?

You can successfully do fax broadcasting with a single phone line, however you will not be able to receive or make calls while you are faxing.

When you add up the amount of money that you will save on long distance charges every month, you may choose to get a second phone line. The cost is generally under $20 per month. (contact your local phone company)

If you're just starting out  and don't have the wherewithall to get another line, not to worry.  You can still do this.
As a matter fact fact, you really need to do this because it will help you to get your business on track right from the git-go. Remember this, you have a window of about 15 hours within your day.  Are you really going to need your phone line for all of those 15 hours?  Probably not.  You may want to fax for 2 hours in the morning and 2 to 3 hours in the evening.
    What it boils down to is:  Where's there's a will, there's a way ~ wouldn't you agree?

Tidbit:  WinFax Pro does have the capability to use two modems. With two phone lines, you can nearly double your fax transmissions. Double your prospects, double your income. Double your fax broadcasting and you can still do it for just  pennies per page.

Can I Still Use My Computer While It Is Broadcasting Faxes?

Yes, because Windows multi-tasks, so you can still use your computer.   Multi-tasking means that you can have several applications running at the same time. WinFax Pro will run in the background and will not affect other applications that are running. The only thing that you cannot do is dial into the internet, that is unless you have two modems, an internet cable connection or DSL.

    How Are Fax Leads Generated?

CIM compiles our own opportunity seeker / MLM fax lists and due to the demand, we may at times use list managers or brokers, who compile fax leads in a number of different ways.

    • Ads are placed, individuals respond requesting more information about home-based business.
    • Network Marketing companies dissolve and sell their database of distributors/members, which by the way are now looking for a new home.
    • Numbers are acquired from individuals that have obtained information about home-based businesses through fax-on-demand.

Note:  In each case, each recipient is contacted to verify that they do in fact want to receive information about various products and/or home-based businesses via fax.

What Are The Quality Of Your Fax Lists?

While no list is 100% accurate due to the rapid changes in today’s busy world, CIM continually tests fax numbers. The Opportunity Seeker/MLM lists that available from CIM are recently tested within 7-21 days and were 100% connectable at that time.  There will be numbers that will be busy when you are broadcasting plus with the increasing number of internet users, most of which use their fax lines for an internet dial-up, the amount of connectable numbers will vary at any given time.

With WinFax, you will be able to view the status of any transmission and see if the line was busy or if there was no answer. You can resubmit failed faxes at another time. (Instructions/Video to resubmit faxes is included in your VTM)

What Kind Of Response Can I Expect?

The response rates for faxing are generally 1/2 to 1 percent.  That's 5 to 10 responses per 1000 delivered faxes.  You need to keep in mind is that averages are calculated over time.  What this basically means is that your response rates will fluctuate.  Sometimes they will be great, sometimes they are will be fair and sometimes they will be poor.  No one can guarantee response rates because what moves a recipient to action is an individual thing.

I can tell you this though. The key to a successful marketing campaign is consistency.  You have to get your information into the hands of the masses on a consistent basis.  Fix and refine your marketing literature until you find what works for you and then stick with it for the long term and you will have success.

So many people have caught the get rich quick wave.  Now I don't want to burst your bubble, but let me tell you folks, constructing a business takes time.  Sure some people obtain success quickly, but it is a very small percentage.  I'm not telling you this to discourage you, I just want you to be realistic.  When you embark on something with your eyes wide open, the likelihood of achieving your goals is much greater, whereas, if you have unrealistic expectations, you are setting yourself up for failure.

How Can I Maintain My Database & Keep My Fax Lists Clean?

Maintaining your database is perhaps one of the most important aspects of personal fax broadcasting.   Without database management software, maintenance of your database can become quite time consuming and repetitive

We have literally made this as CIMple as possible for anyone who wants to do their own fax broadcasting, because you will also have access to Fax List Manager, which is a powerful software application designed specifically to manage your fax lists.  Click here for more details.

Additionally, although WinFax Pro is not a database management program, instructions are also included in your training manual  to remove fax numbers from your WinFax phonebooks and your groups.

How Many Others Will Receive The Same Database of Fax Numbers from CIM?

CIM has an extensive database of fax numbers plus we test, clean and format new lists regularly.   We also ask that you indicate the business(es) that you will be promoting when you purchase a list, which helps us to better monitor the use of our databases.  We never re-sell an identical database.

Does that mean we can guarantee that there will not be any duplication?  Absolutely not. No list company can guarantee that because there are only so many fax numbers of Opportunity Seekers / MLMer's to go around. Numbers are mixed and matched so to speak.

Tidbit:  Many people have a misconception that duplication is bad, when in fact, duplication is a wonderful thing.  Did you know that it is a proven fact that people respond to something only after they have seen it several times.  I believe the rule is 3 to 6 exposures.  So what does that tell you?  Think of it this way:  when an individual is exposed multiple times, you have a much better chance of getting their attention and moving them to action.

Remember this, you see ads for McDonalds, Best Buy, Sears and numerous other companies, many, many times.  When you are seeking something, you recall the ads you've seen.  Out of sight, out of mind ~ In your face, on your mind.  Wouldn't you agree?

The principles of marketing are all the same although the methods vary.

    Can I Purchase Fax Numbers?

Yes, You can purchase fax numbers from CIM at any time.

If you have inquired into the price of fax numbers, then you know that CIM offers the best value for your money. We update our databases of  new and changed area codes as well as current fax-me-not requests. You’ll receive fax numbers that are formatted for WinFax Pro. If you can find anyone else that can offer you "quality leads" for a lower price, by all means buy your lists from them.

I Have A List Of Fax Numbers, Can I Import Them Into WinFax?

Any fax number can be imported into WinFax Pro if they are formatted correctly.  Your training manual explains HOW TO format numbers for WinFax or if you prefer, CIM can format them for you.

CIM will clean your numbers against our remove database,  split them into smaller manageable files and format them for WinFax Pro.  The cost for CIM to clean, split & format numbers is $10.00 per thousand.  Contact CIM for larger quantities.

What Are The Legalities of Faxing?

Please Note: The advertising of goods, products, or real property by transmitting unsolicited facsimiles may be in violation of state and federal law, and may subject the advertiser to civil penalties.

The laws regarding fax transmissions vary by state.  We have researched and always act in accordance with the TCPA. Articles are available by visiting the Federal Communications Commission website. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/information_directory.html

Note:  The fax numbers that we offer to our customers are of individuals that have opted to receive additional information based on the guidelines of the fax laws.  We test our numbers prior to distribution, which provides the recipients ample time and the opportunity to request to be removed if desired, thus providing our customers with much cleaner lists.  Even with this system in place, there may be times when an individual receives unwanted faxes.  There are several reasons for this.

    • The remove instructions were not followed correctly.
    • They did not submit their remove request prior to distribution.
    • They have opted onto several lists unknowingly and are being
inundated with faxes and no longer wish to receive them.
    • They have requested to be removed from another list.  Many people
think that all the faxes they receive come from the same source and
do not realize that they must submit a request for each fax received.
    • Human input error
    • And More...

Additionally, although the Opportunity Seeker / MLM lists that CIM offers are generally home based numbers, there are times when a business is opted into a list, starts to receive faxes and the management gets upset.  The problem is that the majority of people do not understand how lists are compiled and in the case with businesses, it happens most often because an employee has requested information and provides the fax number at their place of employment, which by law, gives the broadcaster the right to fax to the number provided.

There are a multiple variations of the aspects of list management and 99% of the time, the system works as it is designed to, but there are times when something slips through the cracks, so to speak, and must be handled individually.  CIM has been distributing fax lists for over 8 years and has never had an issue with unwanted faxes that could not be handled by anything but communication with a recipient.
